Laughter and tears on 25th anniversary

We celebrated our 25th anniversary Saturday with family, friends and campground guests, and paid tribute to Rent Fokkens, who passed away in April of this year.

The Fokkens family started the campground in 1999 on the Weerwater, but after 20 years had to make way for the Floriade Expo and moved to the Schateiland in the Noorderplassen, their original preferred location.

Tineke, Sander and Jeanine Fokkens unveiled a street sign in memory of Rent, after which an old Amsterdam fireboat with the water spray paid tribute and the party began.
